Glass House
The glass house has its inspiration in the Farnsworth House by Mies van der Rohe, and follows his principle “Less is more”.
It is a minimalistic and ecological house that produces 90% of the energy it consumes and has its own system of purification of all waste waters. The goal is to make the house disappear into the landscape of the surrounding nature, using materials such as Corten steel, glass, and a vegetation roof. The windows have the same Corten steel colour, to limit the number of materials and colours to a minimum, and to make the whole look uniform. The outer blinds allow the light and sun control in every room of the house. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to live and work in this house, surrounded by an overwhelming nature, and to profit a 100% of the beautiful views across the mountains and the sea.
We received an honorable mention at the Palmarés Technal 2019 competition, for our ‘Casa de Cristal’ house. Proud to be one of the 3 rewarded projects in the category ‘Housing’ for Spain and Portugal. Link to the official publication.
